A 90s revival on Oxford Street

The brief
We were tasked with:
- Creating four animated screens as part of one large POS display
- Capturing the spirit of 90s pop culture while spotlighting the Air Max 95 Pink Foam
- Designing assets that could interact and move seamlessly between screens
- Adapting the concept for other UK cities: Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, featuring iconic local elements
- Delivering everything within a tight turnaround window

The challenge
From sketch to screen, the project demanded precision and pace. We opted for a vector based approach in Illustrator, allowing us to build flexible assets that could be animated and exported individually while still working together as one cohesive piece.
Every element, from tamagotchis and bubble chairs to the London Underground sign and Wembley, needed to feel both nostalgic and fresh. With four synchronised screens and hundreds of moving parts, the key challenge was maintaining fluidity, vibrancy and a unified 90s aesthetic across every frame.
The solution
We developed a vibrant, cartoon esque animation system that celebrated both the heritage of the Air Max 95 and the culture of each city. The London version placed the Pink Foam sneaker at the centre of the story, surrounded by local landmarks and 90s icons, all moving in playful rhythm.
Once live, the campaign was adapted for their flagship stores in Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, each tailored with distinctive touches like the Manchester bee and Liver Birds. The end result was a head turning display that merged brand heritage with cultural pride.
