Turning a bold idea into a live, scalable platform






The brief
We were tasked with:
- Building a custom e-commerce competition platform from the ground up
- Developing an admin section with full operational control and rich analytics
- Creating a user dashboard where participants track spend, points and entries
- Integrating a bespoke payment gateway and ticket reservation system
- Designing and deploying infrastructure that is robust, scalable and monitored



The challenge
Victri’s concept required more than a standard e-commerce build, it demanded a platform that could handle real time competition entries, reservation holds, variable odds, live draws and seamless user experience, all while remaining secure, scalable and highly reliable.
The stakes were high: running on legacy or off the shelf systems would risk latency, downtime and lost trust. On top of that, the infrastructure needed to support rapid iteration, new competitions launch frequently, prize pools evolve and user expectations are high. We needed to build both the system and the operational backbone in parallel, all within a tight timeframe.
The solution
We didn’t just build a platform, we ignited Victri’s vision into a high octane digital engine. We engineered a completely bespoke competition ecosystem: a dream car and charity driven business model with custom ticket reservation in 20 minutes, a seamless checkout flow built via a unique payment gateway and a user dashboard that made every entrant feel in control.
Behind the scenes, we designed and deployed a resilient Kubernetes infrastructure on DigitalOcean, complete with Grafana monitoring that integrates site data, marketing analytics and user behaviour, giving Victri’s leadership real time insight and full confidence to iterate agilely and scale boldly. Then we moved seamlessly into a long term Maintain partnership, becoming the trusted tech engine for Victri’s growth journey.
The system now features:
- A custom admin portal that gives Victri full visibility into competitions, entries, live draws, custom discount codes and upsells.
- A dynamic user dashboard where entrants can track spending, view points, entries and upcoming draws in real time.
- A custom e-commerce gateway integration plus a 20 minute ticket reservation hold, ensuring fairness and seamless checkout even during high demand drops.
- Backend infrastructure deployed on DigitalOcean using Kubernetes, fully managed by us, with dashboards via Grafana that integrate with external systems like Klaviyo and Google Analytics, giving stakeholders real time data to make smart business decisions.
Once the platform launched within the 10 month window, we transitioned Victri into our “Maintain” service, acting as an extension of their team, supporting ongoing growth, feature releases, performance optimisation and infrastructure stability.
